Maths Workout

Maths Workout

A Poem by writingforfun
"

Maths was a subject I studied . I do love numbers. As I was at the gym my mind kept thinking about numbers so I penned this nonsense.

"

           Maths Workout

10.00   Time I arrive at Leisure Centre

3.60     Gym fee paid

0           Free swim

321      My usual locker number

I    take away   the key and secure it to my wrist.

100  metres. Distance along corridor to fitness suite

1500 metres covered on rower ( interested Cambridge?)

7.45  Mins:secs  to jog a kilometre on treadmill

120  heartrate

35 Total   Number of bodies using equipment  Plus

3    instructors

45  average age of those present ( intuitive guesswork)

100 metres. Back to changing room.

321

20  minutes swimming pool , shared    with 50 others !

321

2 miles back home

12.00 arrive home.

Lie down.

Body tired but mind buzzing.

‘How many times have I been to the gym this month?’

‘How many calories did I burn today?’

‘How much weight have I lost?’

 ‘When shall I go again?’

..................................?????

It's confounding how consuming numbers dictate our every day life, isn't it? Today, I walked 4 miles in 57 minutes...hope to squeeze in 5 under the same amount of time! I put a roast chicken in the oven @ 350, for about 60 minutes or so, then filled up 2 ice cube trays, which give me 40 miniature cubes in one toss. My Padres beat the Cubs 5-4, so I'm feeling pretty good for the 17th day of April!

Nice to meet you! ; )
