nothing again

nothing again

A Poem by B. Lapinski

I tried but couldn't save her

she was lost in herself

in her god

in her books..

I couldn't talk to her...

she hated conversation

I couldn't pray with her

because I didn't believe

I couldn't read to her

because my voice reminded her of her father

she would sit on the sofa

drinking wine with legs crossed

never saying a word....

she would nibble on small cakes

and sip from small soup bowls..

She looked beautiful in front of the white curtains

sun shining in

her dress was clean

bright

see through

her n*****s shown through ever so slightly

I wanted to touch them

but I could tell this girl was special..

she wanted reigion

literature

medicine...

all I could offer was wine

cake

poetry

foreplay

and an empty apartment..
