Tyranny

Tyranny

A Poem by John B. Bolling

The tyranny of hope

Political campaign

The unstable elope

A partisan last stand

Forget promises

Politicos renege

Dire circumstances

Poor shiver and beg

Lost democracy

Power is consuming

Blind eye fantasy

Corruption booming

The tyranny of rot

Magnate of the rotten

Tomorrow we forgot

All will be forgotten

John B. Bolling
I don't usually write socio-political pieces, so let me know if its heavy-handed, boring, or just plain sucks. Thanks.
