For Now or ForeverA Poem by John B. BollingWith every day comes another thought Another chance to end this charade Fake smiles and false pretenses All disguises hiding the truth within I never was good at courage Cowering suited me best But now all I want is to die So I close my eyes and go to rest If I wake, the so be it It won’t be anything new If my eyes never opened again There is nothing I would miss This pain is just too great These thoughts too strong It’s dark and getting late For now, or forever, so long
