Strange Night Birds

Strange Night Birds

A Poem by Brett Michael Wagner
"

Last night I wrote this listening to these birds singing in the palm trees.

"

Darkened palm tree
Standing before me
Shadowed in the
Night's Majesty

Stars were sprinkled around us as
some foreign bird sang a chilling
trill from the dark
To my surprise
A whole choir joined in--
I stood and let
the notes whistle 'round my ears
Then they stopped
One

     By
        One
             And

They left us to the stars

Good night,

strange night birds

Not bad, and I really like the image you've presented here. I think, though, that the little downwards spiral could exclude the 'and' at the end. It would make more sense without it, I think. Either way, this is very good. Well done.
