What You Do

For that person that always stays by my side no matter what I put them through because that is the kind of person they are.

What You Do

you are you and that is what you do

caring more than anyone would

know me better than others could

standing by my side when I'm all alone

letting me cry on your shoulder on a bad day

never leaving me til I’m okay

never ending compliments even when I don’t believe them to be true

because you are you and that is what you do

a smile that can cure cancer

you are the answer, no one can disagree

worth more than anyone can dream to be

but I'm just a screw up, so insecure

always say the wrong thing

how can you be mine?

screwed you over countless times

giving me a thousand second chances

make the best of the circumstance

cause you are you and that is what you do

I do nothing but cause you pain

what do you have to gain?

you’re a blessing nothing short of that

putting me before your own self

chasing the dreams you work hard at

not given up and continue to care

too perfect to even compare

but you can be content without me

can't you see? so much better without me?

you're so important and strong

how can you love someone so wrong?

see something worth fighting for

you deserve so much more, so much more

but you are you and that is just what you do
