The Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge

A Poem by Brenda Alicia
"

Thoughts on the Brooklyn Bridge

"
I made it to the Brooklyn Bridge- despite all the wrong turns following signs that stated their street led to the bridge, I made it.

Every step that I took fueled the next one.
My arms tingled with excitement as my eyes met the New York Skyline-

I thought to myself how beautiful

How lucky am I?

It was romantic
The city and I

And our story had just begun
Would it be a mystery? Perhaps of poem of my latent thoughts-

Maybe a love story.

I haven't decided yet.

Whatever unfolds - I know it will be true
Because finally my heart was in turn with the world around me
