Life after Lies

Life after Lies

A Poem by Brenda Alicia
"

A discovered lie may leave you feeling sad but hey... there is life after lies.

"
Picking yourself up after the egg has left your face,
Could leave you wishing you never left a trace,
or an inkling of emotion you once evoked,
emotion, that brings your heart to your throat.

Memories you cling onto,
and tears that make you choke.
Suppressing all that may be easy,
but not without being left queasy.

But our heartbeat has stride-

and that's better than any discovered lie.
