Heavy thoughts
Seemed to flicker
At the edges of his eyelids
He was tired of it all,
He was tired, so tired...
Brick wall stretching forever,
Dipilated buildings and silent curves
Shimmering atmosphere,
Satallites dancing above his dreams
He rolled his head and shoulders
Smooth blue bones showing up against skin
Veins sparking faintly with rushing currents
He opened his eyes, catching all the colors
of light.
He pushed against the wall with his back,
bracing against his ankles
Rising up by degrees.
Ashy smudged shadow,
trembling shaking nerves
Dusty tracks tracing down his face
He really doesn't much care
But somehow, they wouldn't stop.
And he knows someone
Is out there,
Watching.
To leave the wall is to leave life altogether.
He shut his eyes and staggered
Out into the open space
Such bright lights,
Blinding him,
Leading him home.
