Missing You.

Missing You.

A Poem by Eccentric

On Homecoming night,
I wore a pretty dress
He gave me a corsage
And I wrapped my arms around him
Thinking of you.

I remember standing in the hot sun,
Hugging you carefully
You whispered goodbye,
Brushing your lips across my forehead.
I was five years younger.

And now you're gone
And God, how I miss you.
You were my mentor, my brother, my friend.
You refused to show me what love was,
But I loved you anyway.

The lights dim,
And I imagine your face
When he kisses me.
I push away, making my way through the crowd.
I plead motion sickness, and he lets me go
After I refuse his offer to drive me home.

I step outside, breathing in the night air.
Where are you?  Where were you?
Will I see you again?
Are you dead somewhere?
Are you breathing, is your heart beating?
I miss you...
Come back, please.
Come back to me.
