Hitting the Stop Button.

Hitting the Stop Button.

.... Inspired by:"Take Me Away (Acoustic)" by Lifehouse & so many other things

"

Let go of the hard, burned regret
And let it drift off your fingertips
Like drops of dew

And here we are,
We’re laughing and joking
About it, but it still lingers
Like the acidic traces of
Love,

And I smile to see your face,
What are the boundaries?
Where is the chain-link fence
That I cannot scale?

Just for one moment, let me
Go back to where we talked so frankly
Laying bare our selves,
Talking about the mistakes,
The errors, the what-might-have-beens...

It was my mistake.
No, it was mine.
It was no one's fault.
It was no one's...

“I wish...”
But we can wish no longer
Sitting on opposite sides,
Thinking.

There’s really no going back.
