The Spirit WolfA Poem by BryannaThis was a school assignment. I got an A+!
A loud bang rang in the air.
I ran and ran, my future despair. My future was almost absolute, I'd probably die today, I was too destitute. My frail bones, kept on going, I had taken out too many life loans. This was it, my debt would be payed. But I wouldn't give up, so to a bush I swayed. If I wasn't a misanthrope before, I sure was now, This human nearly had me knocking on heaven's door. This man was a miser, he'd have my demise, he was my unvoluntary adviser. He came out of nowhere, and to him I implored, but he shrugged and took aim, I had been ignored. So I bared my teeth, and lunged at his throat, and I watched as he fell, and his blood spattered my coat. I backed away, my thoughts were void. T'was a man I'd just slain. I turned around in silence, I felt morose. I spotted a pup, and said, 'No, don't come too close...' He continued coming towards me, not a speck of fear in his eyes, he greeted me with benevolence, would I be the cause of HIS demise? 'No small pup, do not come near, 'tis me that you should fear.' The pup shook his head, and put on a smile. 'I have been on this earth for a long while.' 'No longer than me, of course.' I said, 'You are so young, you musn't have a bit of force.' 'I am older than you. I died long ago. In the hands of the hunter, that lay in the snow.' 'How can you be dead?' I asked, 'You're standing right here, is something wrong with your head?' 'No, young brute. I am a ghost. My fate is absolute, I'll go to heaven at the most.' 'Why aren't you there now?' I asked him, 'Has the wolf God not allowed?' 'I stay here, to be your guide. To show you the way, to stand be your side.' 'So you are my angel? This can't be true. I am no better, what brought me to you?' 'I am your grandfather's brother, my name is Kaleek, and I am your guardian, to help you find whatever you seek.' 'I seek to be an alpha, of a thriving pack.' I wished to the pup, and he turned his back. 'That I cannot give you, you must find that by yourself.' The pup turned to look at me, and away he flew. 'But, Kaleek, wait! Will you ever return?' I chased after him, galloping my fastest gate. The pup nearly nodded, and faded into the air. The apparition was gone, no evidence he had been there. I looked to the sky, and sat on my rump. 'See you around, Kaleek. Goodbye.' © 2009 BryannaAuthor's Note
