Masked casket

Masked casket

A Poem by Latifa

painted faces
reflect the pigmentation of shame
and the strings of anger are pulling
the logic to fall

desiccated rivers of desire
found no will to revive
I sense an
unquenchable thirst for
love , peace
and everlasting ataraxis

 in the midst of reflection
I uncover the pseudo bubble of protection
to find myself snared
in a casket of
void and ticking clocks
of delirium

yet my bleeding soul
wears the hopeful smiles
to recover
to dream once again
I depart from reality
to embark on the fairy land
of hope

I read this as positive, a call for acceptance in the face of rejection ; excellent...

The fairy land can bestow a return to some level of acceptance at times and is needed sometimes, hugs x

we too often bury ourselves in our own protection...keeping our heart hidden...and our lives destitute of love.
we mourn ourselves...as we bury our heart away from others.

The face wears way too many covers daily and you penned it quite nicely. Very eloquent.

You have a great knack for unique word choices and lush evocations...those strings of anger always seem to hold fast against logic, try as one might to snap them...I relate to this in ways that are hard to explain...I suppose it has something to do with fake smiles hiding an embittered soul, though I wish I could depart from reality with the ease of this character...this one left me in a pondering mode for sure...great work :)

Eloquently pen'd, sounds like denial, and I love the use of ataraxis, you rarely ever read that in a poem...and the ' pseudo bubble of protection' is aces!

My pleasure, I'm well acquainted with that bubble. :)
This is a very beautiful and elegant piece, I enjoy how your words seem to float from one to the next. One of my suggestions is perhaps adding in a bit more punctuation or capitalization for emphasis, but without it is very ethereal.
