An acquaintance I made in the darkA Poem by Latifapanting breaths strangled with coiling shadows I run and run to find a saviour I gaze up to the sky and there he was so ravishing with his silvery beams that penetrate the core of the vacant body and warm it prudish, he sits on a throne of yellowish clouds followed by million joyful stars his wisdom is overwhelming I bend my knee and rest on a tree to catch my breath and ponder in the mighty moon stroking me with caressing touches he asks my wrenched mind what have got into you my child and my tears were the answer he grinned a pity smile and said fear not my child cry not my child God is caring and sorrows never last I've watched over this poor earth from the first pace of humanity that stepped in and with certainty I tell you raise patience in your heart and hold no hatred forgive whoever wronged you and embrace peace to live in peace love is the mender and forgiveness is the true treasure
