A Dream

Outside of time-- apart, separate

inside a dream, our own world

You and me-- together

the space around us shifting, settling into the safety of our bodies

Our hands knotting, our bare skin flushing

blotchy pinks and reds behind my closed eyelids

Rustling under the linens

Our breath hitching, catching

Falling, softly over us

Slowly, to pieces

Slowly, we rise

searching, seeking solace in each other

I cannot see you, but I can feel you

I can feel everything

Every

single

l i t t l e

thing

the pull of your fingertips grasping

the wisp of your eyelashes blinking

the heat of your quickening sighs

I can feel it all

There is nothing else here

just this-- breath and taste and touch

coalescing

Only this

There is you and me

as we melt, together--

into everything and anything

and all the same, into absolute nothingness

and total completion
