My Finding

My Finding

A Poem by BreatheBrittany

I went out

to find a bird

to sing with this song

This song of loneliness and tremours

of love, I know

I went out to see the salmon spawning

all pink and smelling of salt

I found you

there

Shivering with longing

To you, I go

My ankles burning and cold

with the fire and the calling

All I saw was what I felt

I couldn't even place your name

though your face I held

And in summertime

I went out

the soil under my soles slipping and falling

and found mine
