Song Bird

Song Bird

"
roses may be red,
and violets may be blue.
but there was always something
a little different about you.
from the moment we met
I felt the pull.
a force that said we could be something great.
you brought a light into my life
that shown through any and all dark.
and like a songbird,
you sung your melodious tune that became all too familiar to my saddened heart.
a tune that could make flowers burst right out of the ground,
and bring life and joy into even the tiredest of eyes.
the home I found was right in your arms and your embrace has never felt so good…
it’s something that I wouldn’t mind feeling forever.
holding your hand feels like holding the universe at my finger tips
and I wonder
if Mother Nature feels this same enlightenment with all the power she holds.
having you in my life has painted my stormy sky a fluorescent sunset,
of pinks and oranges,
a truly fascinating sight.
through every rise and fall that life may give,
I know I have my songbird by my side
to sing his melodious tune.
my songbird isn’t like anyone else,
because who could ever compare to someone as wonderful as you?
whatever emotion I feel at the end of the day,
could never compensate
to the happiness found in my heart.
a sort of glow.
my songbird is someone who knows me better than I know myself.
I’m not good at poetry,
but
hopefully you get the point.
