Suit of armour

Suit of armour

A Poem by breakthebrokenone

Trembling hands
Touch my skin
Making me crawl back
Into my flesh
Which acts like a suit
A suit of armour worn
Like David wore when he fought Goliath.

I never wanted to be touched.
It happened without consent.
I couldn't find my voice
And I didn't have the power to stop it.

In that moment
I needed a suit of armour
But I couldn't find it
Despite it being within reach.

I wish I had my suit of armour
Like I have it now
That I wear proudly upon my back
And give to the women in need.

We all wear a suit of armour
We all stand together
And fight
As an army
Against oppression.
