Maybe he would love me if I weren't so critical of my work.

Maybe he would like me if I smiled a little more. 

Maybe he would want me if I wore more makeup and pretty dresses.

Maybe he would care more if I drank red wine and ate cheeses from France.

Maybe he would be more compassionate if I could quote Cohen or maybe Poe.

Maybe he would value me if I drank coffee without sugar.

Maybe he already does.
