Gone To Waste

Gone To Waste

A Poem by breakthebrokenone

Though my bed is not empty, I am alone.
He lays beside me, but there is so much space keeping us divided.
We fought this morning. About God knows what, I think we do it just for fun.
We f**k for fun, not for love.. that was gone long ago.

We used to be happy, it hasn't always been this way.
We would talk like a happy couple, we would go out and hold hands, we used to be open.
But now it's just screaming and fighting and tears... a lot of tears.
And countless hours of no conversation.

Though we talk, there is nothing new to say.
There used to be stories about how our day went, we used to care a lot.
But now there isn't even a 'hello', slamming the door is closure.
We don't hold hands and we don't embrace, all this time has gone to waste.

I wish I could have my old partner back.
The one who smiled, the one who cared.
We used to be in love, I swear we did
But now all that has gone to waste.
