Walls

Walls

A Poem by breakthebrokenone

They try to build a wall to keep us  a p a r t
One so high that not even the sun can enter.

Only the rain seeps in
through the cracks in the wall
where the moss grows
between grey cinder blocks.

Why do they wish to separate us?
What harm have we done?
Except live simple lives and keep
to ourselves.

They hate to see us happy
so they try to build a wall
to keep us  a p a r t
