Traitor Tears

Traitor Tears

A Story by Julia

Drip. Drip. Drip. The water from the facet continued to waste away. They had always said, just turning off the small droplets, you could save gallons. If only someone could close my heart up. Maybe I could save gallons of tears from streaming from my eyes. The gallons build up making me pay a costly price. Once the floor is soaked, there’s no way the water will be absorbed anymore. So, the room starts flooding. And my eyes don’t stop streaming with the see-through blobs hitting into the puddle. The puddle builds up, and it start to encircle my waist, then up to my chest. By now, I’m treading water to keep my head above the line. Gasping for air, as the room keeps filling up, and my eyes don’t stop streaming. There’s no coast guard to save me from my drowning fate. And there I go, taking my last breathe. And I sink to the bottom of my destructive, outspoken emotions.
