Angels Need Second Chances Too

Angels Need Second Chances Too

A Story by Julia
"

Not really a story just a little piece.

Scattered scars surrounded the area of my heart. It was still beating, but I was numbed from the cold breeze that had followed me everywhere. In this world, there was no light, there was no day, and there was no warmth. This world that I once had feared, had become my home. I could walk alone on the empty streets and never go noticed. I wasn’t anything to anyone there. We all shared the same heartbreaking pain. We all knew what each other was feeling. There was nothing to share or talk about. We were all chained prisoners in this dreary nightmare we could not escape. When many are first capture, then complain about the torturous cold, and the lack of light, but then they grow comfortable in this boring scene. On rare occasions, one would walk along the street of Misery, and just for a moment, two fallen angels with broken wings would look up from their feet and out in front of them. Sometimes, that small act would change their lives forever. Once in a blue moon, these dark angels would lay their eyes on one another and light would shine upon them. Warmth would be spread throughout their bodies, and the ice on the chains around their hearts would be melted. The scars that surrounded their hearts would disappear, and these two lives would begin anew. I took that chance to look up from my frozen feet, and I met your chocolate eyes piercing mine. Now, we’re just two fallen angels, having our wings mended and being risen back up to heaven.

This is some very good writing, Julia. You express well how two kindred, similar souls come together and lift themselves from darkness into light. Not a fantasy, I know this to be a scene often played out in real life.
