Losing Him

Losing Him

A Poem by Julia

Cuts on her wrists, bruises on her heart

Only what happens where they’re apart.

Walking around, putting on her show

When all she sees is his face’s glow.

Touching her lips, she remembers the feeling.

Remembers it as she cries toward the ceiling.

“Bring him back, right now you hear?”

She yells to God, but he never appears.

Alone in the dark, alone in the cold.

She remembers the day when her soul was sold.

To love him was a risk she decided to take.

No second thoughts, never a mistake.

And like the lion sleeps in its den,

It’s the only time she sees what could have been.

Oh how sad! Beautiful poem, once again you capture the feelings so well with words. Beautiful I think sums it up exactly. Thanks again.
