Dreams

A Poem by Julia

The memories lingered in her mind,

The time drug on, slowly passing by.

She couldn’t let go, she knew this was true.

But bearing the pain was so hard to do.

Hearing his name brought tears to her eyes,

Holding together composure, she did not cry.

Praying, she awaited for her love to return.

Because without him, everything crashed and burned.

Standing strong, she held her head up high.

But the heart beating in her chest, begged to die.

Waiting for him, was like waiting for rain in a drought.

Useless and hopeless, and full of doubt.

Drifting to sleep, was the only way to make things serene,

Because the only way to have him was in her dreams.
