A Nightmare's Reality

At what point does reality become a nightmare?
When you are screaming and crying in the dead of night?
Or when the uneasy fear k=won't subside?
When the night seems to drag on and you begin to think the sun will never shine again?
Is it when you can't wake up and you realize you never fell asleep?

I enjoyed the poem. A complete tale in so few words. I like the inner thoughts leading to powerful ending. Nightmares can seem real. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Ah, the mind and the heart! They do weave a tangled web, don't they?
One step at a time.
If there isn't pain, there wasn't love.
And it still hurts unbelievably when you're 52...
...and lose your wife to cancer.
You have so much to look forward to. Do not let the pain harden your heart; do not close it off from the rest of the world, for a walled-off heart will never shine forth into the world as it is meant to. Its light will be dimmed, leaving only darkness. And darkness attracts not love, only more darkness.

About
I am going through a hard time and decided to write. I'm not a good writer. I'm 15, so I'm not too experienced. My punctuation will be sloppy. Same with my grammar. Please excuse that. Thank you more..
