Daddy's Little Girl

Daddy's Little Girl

A Poem by bre
"

Something I've never had, but I think every little girl needs/deserves. It explains why I've never been the little girl dreaming of a wedding or that special someone.

"
Every little girl
Should be daddy's little girl
Placed on his shoulders
Shown to the world

Every little girl
Should be treated like a princess
Placed before everything
Because she is his vision

Every little girl
Should dream of the day
When she walks down the aisle
And her father will say

This is my little girl
And forever she'll stay
I've raised her with love
each and everyday.

This is truly beautiful. I have a father who is in my life, but he doesn't treat me very well, so when I was little I'd dream of my brother walking me down the aisle, never him. I can't be ungrateful because i do have a father, but i can understand what your saying especially when you say "every little girl should be treated like a princess, placed before everything" I was placed last, I do agree that every girl that deserves it, i hope it only makes you stronger, and smarter in the long run :)

This is a gorgeous poem. I love the parallelism. I think it is so wonderful that you worked a strong subject into a simple poem and still were able to show the intense love between father and daughter. Very lovely.
