Truths

Truths

A Poem by Brenda Woods
"

- sometimes i need to speak my mind -

"
i spill over, with bottled up truths
the things i fear to say
because it's easier, to stay hidden
to choose what seems easy
to put everyone else first

sometimes i forget to look after myself

i spill over, a mess of emotion
then i run; and i'm sorry
that i prefer to hide
that i struggle with these fights
that i close off

sometimes i need to speak my mind

i spill over, with bottled up truths
and you understand, you always do
and i step back and think
why am i always so afraid?

Featured Review

This poem got me thinking
its really wrong that we live in a world
where people have to apologize or pay a certain price for saying the truth

We live on so many lies

It is refreshing to learn of truth
no matter what the source may be

nice write
