![]() How to Make Me Your SweetheartA Poem by Brenda Woods![]() Of breaking a girl and piecing her back together to make her yours.![]()
make me your sweetheart;
notes left on my doorstep leave gift after gift-- i'll barely spare them a glance barely give you a chance pick your heart off the floor it's not you i adore make me your sweetheart; learn his name, then persist tug at threads until i rip-- watch as i fall apart then offer up your heart never be discouraged, disgraced continue; until he is replaced make me your sweetheart; leave me endless notes never give up hope-- when i tell you no when i ask you to go put your heart on the ground you'll see, i'll come around make me your sweetheart; i lose myself in sweet intoxication pour another, i will not be shaken-- when your lips press to mine when our fingers entwine i'll let your hands roam my body thoughts hazed; i'll let you have me make me your sweetheart; hold me when i wake, cold, sober warm me, refuse to let it be over-- imagine light in my dead eyes how these lips would curl into a smile i'll only ever give you my heart with sweet intoxication in the dark make me your sweetheart; i've forgotten how to be anything but misery make me into something you believe me to be © 2015 Brenda WoodsReviews
