Calling All HeartsA Poem by Brandon StewartThis was a project for one of my classes, I was to write about love and relationships, but I was supposed to use something to compare it with/ use for a play on words throughout the poem.Calling All Hearts To The Stage Calling all hearts to the stage, we cut a couple diamonds now we have to pay in spades. Clubs look at what we made, dazed in the maze. Lost in the shuffle of eternal heartbreak. And what a heart takes, it has to deal back. But we are a couple KINGS, giving QUEENS, all JACK. Just look at where we’re at, decked by our fate. We can never stop lying; no we never get it straight. And it's like she never knew like we used a poker face, we only work hard when we want to poke- her- face. We swear we aren't that bad soon we'll tell the whole truth. but when we see a new girl, we always change suits. Never want to settle down, because we fear that full house, for there are more hands that we'd have to deal out. So we'll pretend we don't play to get our hands down south. but one day soon, they'll flush the lies out of our mouth. © 2010 Brandon StewartAuthor's Note
