The red mileA Poem by Brandon Oliver Losier
Walking along a dark road
Listening to every lie ever told Watching as fog fades each smile, Wondering how long this is, this red mile. Bodies go through me, like I'm a shade. Tears hit the path, but the echo will always fade. It's getting too dark to see, and I see no light. Even my shady companion can't hold against the dark might. I turn around though, with perfect clarity at what to do, I have to get back, but back to who? No matter the cost, whatever it takes, I'll find a way, there's too much at stake. Back to the faces that greeted me with a smile, I will walk back this red mile. © 2013 Brandon Oliver Losier |
