Whisper in the WindA Poem by brandongilbert17Dedication to a deceased loved one. Ignore the lack of capital letters, I wrote this very late at night and I'm going to leave it this way because of who the lyrics are referring to.
never had a love like yours ever since
you were taken from me along with my innocence. time was cut short, and you left me here... i lived my life by myself full of fear. tears in my eyes now, compare no more to the way my soul was crushed...and my heart was torn. the seeds of time themselves were thrown upside down still i stood my ground, but with no one around. i hear your whisper in the wind, but i can't see your face again... close my eyes to try and fight the pain but love your loss struck me at a vein. i hear your whisper in the wind, but i'll never see your face again. grew out of my shell, tried to live my life. but it feels like i'm on borrowed time from your sacrifice. here without you love, just isn't worth the trouble in my mind...because you were my first: love. you were my heart trust. i never fell apart. hope. i could do anything. strength...because you believed in me. now all i've left is the essence of you in my head, tears of pain as i listen to you whisper to the wind: (...just know that i've loved you...) i hear your whisper in the wind, but i can't see your face again... close my eyes to try and fight the pain but love your loss struck me at a vein. i hear your whisper in the wind, but i'll never see your face again. © 2010 brandongilbert17Author's Note
