The Red, White, and Blue.

The Red, White, and Blue.

A Poem by Brandon
"

Redundancy at it's finest.

"
When we look around
We are oblivious to the monotony;
The shear ignorance.
Bearing the same red, white, and blue
Singing the same song
Sharing the same values
Speaking as one
Not as individuals
Not as ourselves.
But as the single creature we are bred to be.
The abomination of redundancy
The entrapment of our true values;
Our actual goals.
We live our lives under the same delusion
Injected at birth;
The poison of society.
We can try to escape
And climb out of the black hole
Fighting for the light
Achieving what we actually strive for
And not the goals that are preached to us
Living by our own values
Breaking the status quo
And leaving every other assumption behind.
But just as we begin our climb
We get sucked back into the vicious cycle
The same redundancy
The grey, lifeless society
Where none of us actually matter
Only how we are perceived.
We all walk into the grey, lifeless office buildings
And eat our family dinners
Inside our grey, lifeless homes
Beneath the grey and lifeless red, white and blue.
