Waiting for a Dream

Waiting for a dream to be

achieved is like waiting for

a gift to be at long last received.

Impatience flows through me

as blood flows through my veins,

feeling like an overwhelming 

anticipation that cannot be tamed.

For so long it has been delayed, 

but now it seems that it isn’t too 

far away.

I can start to see just how close

it may be,

like the sand meets the sea it

has made its way closer

to me.
