Mirror, Mirror on the wall

Mirror, Mirror on the wall

A Poem by Brandi_mae
"

In high school, during creative writting, we had an assignment to write a poem about an adament object in the perspective of it and this is what i came up with.

"

I sit in her room, watching everything that passes through my view.

I see everything, the tears in her eyes,

The smile on her face,

The loneliness in her soul,

She looks at me everyday not noticing me looking back.

Sometimes she talks to me and sometimes sings,

I only wish she didn’t hate what she sees.

She looks deep down inside me and wonders if what she sees is really her.

I wish I could help and lie to her, making her feel better as she looks at me,

But I can’t speak, I’m only a mirror.

I see good times and bad,

But every day I see her, she looks so sad.

I see the fights with her mom and the happiness on her face when others are around.

I’m probably the best and only person who knows who she really is.

I see things that most people have not,

But the thing I like about being me is that I get to see the real her, the funny, smart, shy, outgoing girl.

In fact right now I see her writing this and no one else does.
