Brother Dear

A poem I wrote in the perspective of a good friend of mine. It pretty much speaks for itself.

Brother Dear

 

What did I do to deserve your attitude?

After all the things I do for you,

You think I’d get a little gratitude.

Don't you see what you’re putting me through?

 

Yes you’re my brother,

And yes we should try and get along.

But the only thing we have in common is our mother,

Through your words and actions I try and stay strong.

 

I can’t wait t get out of the place,

Threatening me day after day.

Telling me you’re going to put me in a neck brace,

What I'd give just to be far, far away.

 

Well you know what brother dear,

Soon I’ll be leaving.

Give it another year,

And you'll be the one who’s left grieving.
