Dancing in the Leaves

A story that's simple but complex...

Sometimes I think of you

I often cannot recall

All the words you have said

Or the ring of your sweet call

 

But as I lie awake at night

You simply rejoice in my head

The sweet melodies you play

They dance upon my bed

 

Now the road may rise to meet you

And a heavy burden will fall

Because being yours is a treasure

One I will always recall

 

So when I rise to meet you

Sand envelopes my toes

And often I am sad

Because of the doors you close

 

You have opened my eyes

To a sweet melody I lost

And now I hope to see you

Dancing in the leaves, in the fall ...
