Dizzy Renditions

A Poem by Brandee D. Hack

Spinning and whirling
my head hurts so much.

A painful time it is.
Only my bed, I kiss.

I've been here allot
thinking about naught.

It's hard to think in this bed of mine.
So much uncomfortable time spent here.

I roll and turn, not a wink I can get.
I only want to sleep, but can't I regret.

I only want to close my eyes
to an ecstasy of dreams.

Of sugar plum faeires in my head,
of beautiful, lovely things.

Hopefully the sleep will come
on day when I am well.

Then I will cherish the humble time
that I am out and well.

Now all I have are books here
to keep my soul at ease.

Insomnia and brain cells that won't turn off.

Your poem demontrates the frustration very well...!

Sometime those books keep us safe. Those dreams can keep us off balance. I like the description and story in your words. A lonely and sad poem.
