Scraped by the River
A Chapter by Brandee D. Hack
Just memories.
I remember when we went to the pond. You heart was shattered. I wanted to pick you up but I couldn't. Then as we skipped pebbles by the river, I found a heart. It was just a pebble though. It helped you though. Somehow the moment you touched it, you were more cheerful. You bounced around the green, dazzling meadow on the way home and took my hand. We had never been two happier together. Too bad we were only friends... But I love you and you being happy means more to me than all the land in Ireland. That summer you show me something important. I had forgotten about it for so long. One word graced your lips; friendship. How could I have been so blind. Thank you for pulling me toward our shores of Cobh and away from the parties of Dublin.
