My Heart's Plea

My Heart's Plea

A Poem by Brandee D. Hack
"

Simply a wonder of visions.

"
I wish you would start all over with me. I want it to be like it was. Just simple love between both of us. You keep saying you want it to be different, like it used to be...But I don't know if it will. I haven't changed, only grown. I'm older now. I wish that I could tell you everything. That I could let you inside. Show you every emotion I have for you, but...That's impossible isn't it? I wish it were so. I want to tell you all of my feelings. I want you to know everything that I feel about you. I want to show you. Just like that place by the river that I played when I was young. I want you to be the one I share all of those sweet and tender moments with. I love you. I only wish that I didn't anger you sometimes. I want to be the perfect one. The one who is your true muirmn breatha dans, or irish soulmate. But you love me for who I am. Yet will kindness ever blend into your soul. I miss the old you. Come back to me my love. Come home.

This is a beautiful prose piece. This was what I meant earlier in my review about prose being common language. This is a perfect example! It is so real and full of the beauty of your spirit that it reaches right off the page and drags the reader in. Seriously, I am very impressed. You really do have some wonderful works and a gift of talent behind them!

Well I have to start this review in pointing out I disagree completely about this poem's view of change - we all change, all the time, and it's so extreme I can honestly say I'm not the person I was 5 minutes ago.
Growing is changing, and the thought that someone can stay how he/she is strikes me as very naive, but maybe that's what you were going for - the tragedy of a heroin so naive she could never win the battle life has chosen for her.
What is definitely true is the fact that people can grow apart in their change - sadly people can not always be together, not physically nor in thought, and even soulmates could eventually grow to have such different views and opinions that they cease to be soulmates.
I think that is why our you see more and more people get divorced nowadays - the more stressful and diverse our society is, the more people grow apart.

I like the picture you've created, of childhood friends who grow to be lovers.
This concept is so rare these days, as we tend to meet new people every day and forget about old friends.
Or maybe that's just me - sometimes I wish my life were a little less complicated - growing up in a small village, not knowing much about the outside world, marrying my childhood sweetheart, raising the perfect family, and just be happy in my ignorance.
Thank you for this midwinter dream. ;)

I think this is art put into words. I think that this shows that there are many flaws in people and sometimes you can't change that about them. They can only change themselves. I really enjoyed reading this. Thanks for sharing. :)
