Attraction Warfare

Attraction Warfare

A Poem by Brandee D. Hack
"

Pure feelings.

"
My light beams across the dark
I walk along your waters.
Do you see me hiding?
I'm playing a game.

Come find me if you can.
I enjoy keeping you at bay sometimes.
It feels like the earth moves for us,
yet we've become so numb inside it seems.

Do you believe in the first sight of love?
Is there magic involved?
Nay, there may only be hearts racing,
making a drummer's mad beats.

Shall we shatter all too quickly,
will you let us break?
Has the glass be broken?
Nay, it is only cracking beneath...
                                 beneath my feet.

Sinking sands show us time.
Precious memories.
Loving enchantress, be I a star?
Are you my moon?

Light up my sky so I may see you.
See your face,
watch the light dance,
just graze upon your beauty.

Attraction?
So much time.
Nothing to waste between us.
Only time is going by...
                            Our Balance?

You make me feel everything good.
Yet a broken heart -- it once stood.
You mended me, made me whole.
Now we have gained the grandest control.

Deep thought's render a heart once beat,
of terrible mishaps and dirty seeds.
But flowers they rise, no warfare found.
Only love -- made and bound.

I loved your play on words here they left me in a trance with your wonderful apt descriptions, i felt myself being aroused and chased by love, there was a magic potion in this writing which borders on enchantment.
Maybe a little whimsical but innocent and pure, the divinity was overwhelming.
Inspiration came and went but in a snapshot of your poetry i have discovered a lady who is incredibly talented and has a unique ability to appeal to the reader yet leave them confounded and lost within the tranquilty of the complexities of writing poetry. EILEEN

I think this shows how attraction can be natural or assisted. Playing the game of cat and mouse to me enhances the attraction meter. Keeping him at bay, makes him work harder for attention and affection. The breaking glass beneath your feet, I think represents you slowly getting into his mind. Once that happens he's dead meat in a good way. Reference to time shows time in its natural state and it being relative. yes we have loads of time but it moves so fast that it isn't enough time when enjoying a lover. Interesting write I enjoyed it.

I really dislike the archaic words like "nay". To me nay is what a horse does. I know...that's spelled "neigh" but it's pronounced the same. Mixing archaic words with modern language is a literary error. Most people today do not even understand the English of Shakespeare. I'll give you an example. "Romeo, Romeo, Wherefore art thou Romeo?" What does this sentence mean when translated into modern English? It means, "Romeo, Romeo, why are you Romeo?" Juliet was asking THAT question because: had her lover been ANYONE else, her parents MIGHT have accepted the boy as a suitor (boyfriend) but since the two families were in a bitter feud with one another, she is basically saying "Why do you have to be Romeo?" or "Why could'nt I be in love with anybody else but Romeo?" But most people today think it means, "Where is Romeo" which is incorrect. I highly advise against using archaic words to make any piece of modern work sound more "poetic". It simply doesn't work. But let "nay" be no and "yay" be yes; let "ye" be you and "thy" be your. Do you see my point? And I mostly like this piece, I REALLY do! But the wording in places sounds old and stuffy in what should be a modern conversation about an existing relationship. JUst my thoughts. I still give it 100%.
