Leaving the Hive.A Poem by Bramble Blossomits about us allLeaving the Hive. It’s said that honey never goes bad, the sugar concentration is so high nothing can grow there, a preservative in its own right. Every bit of sweetness a bee can conjure is placed into a comb, and all it’s anger is delivered in a sting. Honey can sustain life, and give energy, it will carry through a long winter, but only on its terms. But, life needs the messy bits, ones that crumble over time, that stumble as they get older, the food that needs us to grow. Crops
that take our time that yield under our care, and under the beautiful decay of smelly soil. Honey makes it sweet, but nothing can live there. We
need something with an expiration date to keep us honest. © 2015 Bramble Blossom |
