With Saddened Eyes

With Saddened Eyes

A Poem by B.S. Hartman
"

This is a poem that I feel reflects the sad state of how we depend on others we falsely believe know more than us and the results of what following these people blindly have done to us.

"

With saddened eyes weeping tears like rain,

To fall down upon the plains to hide the shame,

A gift is forgotten by those grown lame,

Now only words that lack true meaning with each passing day.

A gift that held hopes as blue as the skies,

And as magical as the stars which light up the night,

Now lay hidden by pollution hindering their sight,

While our children’s hearts follow a similar plight.

Hope for mankind to join as one,

With a unity meant to shine like the sun,

Easily taken away by false words from false God’s,

While Religions taint Holy words to increase their sums.

With arms meant to comfort the needy,

We have lost all sense of God’s true meaning,

As it is greed we are leaning,

Not caring if it’s demeaning.

Humanity has been leased,

To countries that want it to cease,

Taking us further from peace,

With each political speech.
