A Feeling

A Feeling

A Poem by B.S. Hartman
"

Just a thought I couldn't get out of my head

"

With a feeling of blue,

That never seems to come true,

The future never seems to come through,

In all the ways it was meant too.

One thing or another gets in the way,

Each and every day,

Allowing it to be swayed,

In the worst of possible ways.

Hopes and dreams get dimmer,

As each day holds fewer glimmers,

That take away what should be,

Leaving imagination to need.

Days are for counting blessings,

That have come and gone with lessons,

Showing us love and compassion,

For a species that’s constantly forgetting.

Where will this lead us?

In a time when being united is beyond,

As our young suffer a human God,

That benefits the few and leaves the rest to rot.

We need to find love,

The original one from above,

So that mankind can find peace,

And make hatred cease.
