THUNDER IN DECEMBER

There’s thunder in December

Resounding rumblings

Of the ironies I live.

Behaving in dissonance

Like warm winds in winter

The court jester " a fool for approval.

“She’s an oddity-

Too deep in her thoughts”

Against the norm while afraid to exist.

Yet if integrity is honesty, then

I no longer am afraid of the known

and stand on my soul’s relief.

Searching for Serenus,

I gather in degrees of this quest

Most likely never completed.

Unveiling of life: a teasing dance

To the music, enticing,

I gaze at the undecovering

To face undaunted

The consequences of my truths,

I find a portion of inner peace.

There’s thunder in December

An inexplicable conundrum

fitting of the ironies I live.
