keys

keys

A Poem by Toby
"

with the keys, fell his clothing.

"
keys, jingling as they crashed into the floor,
littered with useless key-chains meant for saving him money,
(that he never gave a damn about in the first place),

with the keys, fell his clothing,
an outfit that he felt confidence with,
something he actually wanted to wear,

these things, they
didn't weigh nearly as heavily on his mind,

or his body, where they once pressed against,
as the ring he so fearlessly tossed away,
for a gentle woman's kiss.

Author's Note

Toby
some people were confused by the "saving money" line, in grocery stores around me we have these clubs that give you discounts, and they give you key chains to scan.
