Speakeasy JazzA Poem by C.L. ChandlerJazz is like a bubble bath for your soul... It floats and soaks and soothes and energizes and revives The buzz of it gets you high and You can't help but surrender to it With a tap of your foot and a swing of your head and a tingle in your fingers It's the music inside you... Your heart and mind and hips and lips and The butterflies in your stomach Expressed in cymbals, brass, and A hundred keys of ivory and ebony playing a game together. It makes your close your eyes and hum instrumental lyrics Along with the improvised tune of the sax... It makes you want to write poetry. © 2008 C.L. Chandler |
