Dreamscape

Dreamscape

A Poem by Melissa

My head falls into my pillow

I close my eyes and submit to my body’s fatigue

I try to check the clock but my mind has already fled to my dreamscape

My body is paralyzed with exhaustion

My mind is screaming to wake up but my body is turned off

I finally manage to take a deep breath and open my eyes

I check to see how long I have escaped reality

It is 4:55am, five minutes before my alarm rings

I submerge back under my covers and close my eyes

Beep, beep, beep

I am jolted from my dreamscape

Five minutes have passed already

The new day begins and reality sets in

14 more hours until I return to my dreamscape again

I hate waking up early too. I'd rather be dreaming. I loved this and I totally understand it. Well written. Thanks.

You have a early start. I agree with the poem. I hate waking up. Need coffee and quiet till I can be alert and alive. A nice story and I like the ending. A excellent poem. Thank you.
