Sun

Sun

A Poem by Melissa

The Rays of light slice through the curtains

Filling the room with hues of honey colours

The room becomes warm and inviting, my safe haven

The reflections of light dance off the aged wooden floors creating playful shadows

As the rays of the sun become more intense so does the heat that fills the room

The light magnifies things that were once blind to the eye

As the sun radiates against my pale skin I can feel my body absorbing positive energy

The sun revives my once cool lifeless body

As I walk outside the blades of the warm grass imbed into the flesh of my feet

The liquid gold of the sun pours over my skin and drips down into the earth

Giving the earth’s soil nutrients to survive

The sun is a marble filled with liquid fire

 Its fire feeds me life

And without it I am nothing but a cool lifeless being

And the earth would be nothing but a barren cold place.

A beautiful poem with true wisdom. We need the sun to allow the earth to come alive. I like the description in the poem. Nothing better then a warm sunny day and time to walk on the green earth. A excellent poem. Thank you.
