Rain

Rain

A Poem by Melissa

As I lay in bed I can hear the raindrops knocking on my window

A symphony of acoustic sound fills my mind

The wild air whistles through the cracks of my window

The rush of the rain cleanses the earth’s surface

Wiping the slate of impurity clean

The sky is ignited with electricity

The clouds open and screams echo through the night sky

A surge of energy shoots through my body

I can feel the skies cries of conviction

In an instant I hear nothing

Serenity..

I look out my window and everything stands still

The elements are reborn

Cleansed, purified

Washed by the rain

(Just returning the favour! :))
To me, the poem makes me think that the rain is acting as a beginning ('the clouds open') but also as an end ('the elements are reborn').
I really like that aspect, though I have a strong feeling that I've misinterpreted it ;)
